Nothing gas like was there... This happened in Farmington, NM.

My daughter her friend and I make several trips to Phoenix every year. Mainly for concerts or to a particular college. On our way back we had just gassed up and we were heading out of Gallup on our way to Kirtland New Mexico.
It was late in the evening. I'd say it was just before midnight. The weather had started to change and I notice that I could see small sprinkles of rain on the windshield of the dodge truck I was driving.

It started to get windy as we passed through Tohatchi. The wind blew for several more miles and just a few drops of rain came down. I thought for sure we were going to run into a rain storm but that didn't happen.

What I am about to tell you is something that freaked the be'jesus out of me. As we approached Newcomb I notice the sand storm just ahead of us. It started to blow across the road. I told the girls to keep an eye on the road and to make sure I stayed inbound.
The sand got thicker and I could barely see head lights up ahead. I could feel the sand hitting the truck very hard. A few miles ahead I notice that it started to clear up a bit. The visibility of the road got better and that's when I notice the sand was spinning blowing and racing across the road just ahead of us.
It was just at that point I noticed the sand racing across really fast and just below it I saw a set of short legs or feet running across right underneath. It ran off with the wind. It was as clear as day when I saw this.
