I grew up in Ruidoso, me and my friends would go to every place that was supposedly haunted. I can tell you if you want to see spirits or paranormal activity this is the town to make you a believer. We had so many experiences I am left with no doubt that life goes on past the veil of death.
There's a triplex on High Street where I chased a large man through my apartment on several occasions ending with him going through the wall into the next apartment. The fast-food restaurant by the funeral home is totally haunted as well. Working alone early mornings and late nights I had many experiences ranging from items sliding across counters, hearing voices, office chairs being slammed against walls, and motion cameras following invisible things across the store.

The woods behind the old rainbow lake amusement park, where a large amount of devil worship went on, has many shadow people to see and lots of scary voices to hear in the dark of night. At the orphanage where all the kids and staff disappeared leaving all their belongings behind, we would see toys and drawings moving and hear children laughing. Very creepy but it burned down. When we snuck into the fenced off land that remained, we could still here the kids playing and running around through the grass.

When I lived in a house in the Downs there was a shadow person that would come out of the closet a push around the furniture right in front of me and my brother. It made a sound like hundreds of screaming rats whenever it was present. I could go on for pages but trust me that the town has a very powerful energy. Dark spirits as well as the souls of those who have passed cannot be denied. Seeing is believing. Submitted by W. K.

Well when I was younger we would visit Ruidoso every summer. I only remember having one run in with a ghost there, I don't really remember where we were staying. All I remember was I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and when I walked in to the restroom there was what appeared to be an Indian woman sitting in the floor in front of the toilet. She wasn't dressed like an Indian though, she was wearing a long white night gown looking thing, it could have been a dress, and she had long black hair braided on both sides like pig tails. She was sitting with her knees pulled up to her chest and her hands were on her face and she was weeping. She did not look up at me so I never saw her face, it was like she did not even know I was there. I was sacred so I ran and got in bed with my mom and told her what I had seen. My mom went to see for herself and there was no one there, but I'm telling you it was real; I saw it with my own eyes and I will never forget it.
