I am from Santa Clara, NM and growing up I've heard the legend of La Llorona. When I was much younger my cousins, my brother, and myself would play in the creek almost every day, but this day turned into something that would change our lives forever. One day when we were all down in the creek playing on the rocks the wind began to get very windy, and it started raining. I remember my oldest cousin saying that we have to get out before the ''the crying

lady'' which we called her ''La Llorona'' came. We all began to climb up the rocks to get out, but we all decided to stay. We wanted to see if the legends

were real.
At this point the rain was coming down softly, and the wind completely stopped. We all stood completely still for a few minutes . We stood listening closely, and sure enough we heard her loud and clear crying. She sounded so sad. I remember feeling so sorry for her. Although I've never seen La Llorona I've heard about her.
