I was hiking up at Travertine Falls one day last summer when I heard footsteps behind me on the trail. I assumed it was another hiker and I turned around to look. No one was there but I could still hear the footsteps and they were coming closer and closer to me.
I was very confused about what was going on and I looked around in vain for a reasonable explanation. The footsteps came closer and closer and they went right under my feet and as they did I

felt a cold breeze pass through my body.
Then the sound of the footsteps continued in front of me on the trail and kept getting further and further

away until I couldn't hear them anymore. I took it as a sign that I should turn back. Maybe it was some kind of mountain spirit warning me that something bad was waiting for me up the trail.
