In the summer of 1988 we toured Monument Valley and stayed overnight at Golding's Lodge. In the middle of the night my wife and I were awoken by a noise of chains dragging on the floor. The dragging chain noise became louder and other sounds accompanied it.
My wife was scared and wanted to leave after she looked outside and saw others leaving in the early morning. We kept the lights on as we tried to sleep and left after dawn. We knew we were being

visited by ghosts trying to spook us since we had similar experiences in the past.
Golding's is a beautiful lodge in a gorgeous setting but we vowed

to never stay there again.
