The building on s 5th st which use to be an old orphanage and most recently a furniture store is truly haunted. I have spent time in the building and the incidences I encountered include furniture being moved, items being thrown at you, feeling of being choked, feeling of a child caressing my hair, kids running footsteps, screams and laughter, muddy child footprints, building shaking like an earthquake and if you go outside it there is no shaking anywhere else.

Stories from my grandparents regarding the history state that a little 11 year old boy was found murdered on the second floor. His mother demanded answers from the head of the orphanage, she became very psychotic and started a fire in the back of the building and hung herself.

There are also rumors that the land was also part of the same old cemetery that the civic building is on also. This place is truly haunted and not in a friendly way.

Comment by Bobby: There is no 2nd story in that building if we are thinking of the former furniture store on South 5th Street. Of course it was originally built in 1914 so it could have been renovated.
