The flying head with the internal organs was disgusting but even though it was mutilated it didn't inspire any sympathy. Because the thing radiated malevolence like nothing I'd ever felt before. If cancer has a face it looks like that thing.

I was powerless against the ghoul and then it flew off into the night cackling beneath the moon with a sound like a train-whistle shrieking in the night.
The ghosts were gone and I realized I wasn't very far from my condo after all. Not really even lost actually. I realize this all sounds implausible but I have no reason to be making this stuff up. I have no history of drug use or mental illness and a couple of Zima's have never caused anyone to hallucinate.
