I lived in Torrington for about three months during a summer in 2001. My grandparent were farm workers, and they'd take us to help. One field we were working on had an abandoned 2-story house that wasn't that old. It was probably 29-30 years old. Us being teenagers went inside to look, and it looked like whoever lived there just got up and left. Dishes were still on the table; pictures and calendars were on the wall, and there were clothes still in

the drawers. I believe the calendar was from 1988. What was the scariest thing was the horrible presence I felt. I felt like I was being watched and had

a terrible sense of doom. The air felt so thick. I've never felt anything like that before and even now. I don't know where the home was, and occasionally I try to figure out where I can look up what happened to the family.
