This is my second post of a haunted home in Auburn. My family moved from the haunted house on Lincoln Way to a home on Finley Street by the high school. I lived in the downstairs apartment of the home. It was an upstairs downstairs duplex with a locked staircase connecting the two. We left the staircase unlocked usually because my family lived upstairs.
I often heard heavy footsteps walking around upstairs from my apartment. My mom lived upstairs alone at the time. One day I knew with certainty that my mom wasn't home, but I was hearing these heavy footsteps walking around her house. My then boyfriend and I went up the adjoining stairs and knocked at the door leading to her place. In answer we heard a muffled definitely masculine voice say, ''Hello?''

After freaking out for a minute, my boyfriend tried the door. It was unlocked, and so he checked out her house and found no one there. We returned to my apartment, and the footsteps resumed just a little while later.

Years ago I lived in a beautiful house, yet this house was very old. My family and I had moved into that house in the year of 2014, on January 7. It was the beginning of a brand new year. I thought I would finally be able to start over again with my life and my family. I thought it was going be a new beginning, where I would be happier than ever, but I learned I was extremely wrong.
