In the mid 1960s my friends and I would go park by the Kern River and hang out telling spooky stories. A new kid from Wyoming joined us a few times and came up with a new game. We were young and thought this older guy was cool so we listened to him as he told us if we concentrate a water witch would rise from the water.
No one took this game seriously so we played along. All of a sudden an ear piercing scream came from the direction of the river and we ran back to the van. I thought that was the end of this story but 3 others swore they saw an old hag with long scraggly gray hair rise from the water dripping wet and screaming..

My sister in law works nights and she was driving home about 12 am. She has to drive about 2 miles in a desolate field area. So every night she sees a woman in a long flowing white gown walking in the field on the side of the road.
She looks around 14 to 17 years old. She thought at first she was a teen running around at night. But this happens too often and always same place and time. What she didn't know was 3 young teenaged girls were in a terrible fatal accident just a short distance from the sighting of this apparition.
I will not drive that stretch of road alone at night because when I did last winter in the fog something made a loud sound and we saw a black mist just in front of the car at the same moment we heard the sound.
