In the Carpenteria Middle School after school I needed to go to the bathroom. I went in, and I started to hear tapping from the door. Once I was heading out the door, I kept hearing tapping. Once I went outside there was no one. I stood there in shock, and I heard tapping coming from inside the bathroom. Submitted by Jorge

I was walking over the tracks near Ash Avenue at dusk when I saw a silhouette of a male walking toward me. I had my flash light on at the time, and I politely moved the beam away from him toward the ground as I approached him. In the moment it took to do that I looked up, and he was gone. It was unsettling. One thing I can recall after the fact was the silhouette appeared to have film projection quality: it was choppy and seem to be moving in place. I stopped where I last saw the silhouette, and I searched with my flashlight for what I thought was a person and studied the street lights to confirm what I saw was inexplicable. It is still difficult to accept such an odd happening. .

One night I was walking down to the beach around 9 pm I was walking past the Palms Restaurant and to the right side of me was a little girl dressed up in a pioneer dress. Then I turned around and she was gone. I heard her voice after and a giggling sound and no one there. It was so weird. Submitted by Lisa
Comment by Linda: Final write up: I believe this could be grandma. We were camping at Carpinteria on Labor Day weekend, and it was about 9:40 p.m. on Saturday night. My sister and I were walking to the overflow parking lot when we saw a woman approaching. She was leaving Santa Cruz campground. As we reached the end of the sidewalk we stopped. She was about 5'7'' a bit overweight. She was not young, maybe in her 60s very plain looking with a big nose. She was wearing a 3 / 4 length white cotton nightgown with a plaid shirt over it which was odd. She had a white nightcap over her wild short grey hair. She never looked at us but crossed 12' in front of us. She walked swiftly straight ahead in a trance like state.
I was startled and frozen with my arms to my sides and not able to grab my phone in my pocket. My sister felt uneasy and wanted to get away fast as it gave her the creeps. It was making her feel this event was in slow motion like it wasn't real. Once she passed us I walked quickly, grabbed, and squeezed my sister's hand tightly.
I leaned close to her ear and said ''ghost''. She replied instantly ''yes''. We continued to walk quickly in the other direction and looked over our shoulder to see where she was. We spotted her near the train tracks then lost sight of her. Feeling haunted to say the least.
