Comment by Leila: I lived across the street on 219th place when the little girl died. She had frequently played at my house with my sons. She was a very sweet girl and it was a tragic accident. I went to her funeral.
Comment by anonymous: God bless the little girl and her family. It's good that you were able to pay your respects.

The Hopping Man ghost does haunt the Dominguez Hills. He is dressed like 1860s era clothing, and yes, it is around Del Amo and Wilmington Boulevard. There was a story by local residents about a boy riding his bike through the area that saw the hopping man ghost and that the ghost followed him closely as he tried to peddle faster on his bike. As he got closer into the neighborhood of Compton, the spirit departed. The boy lives on 155th Street off of Central. .

Comment by Nick: The story of the Hopping Man in Dominguez Hills is common. The incident the young boy on the bike happened in the mid 1950s and many people in the area has heard of the Hopping Man. The little boy said that he was dressed like Abraham Lincoln.
That's a story from way back in the day. There is a story as well of a bull that haunted the area where the cattle ranch part of Dominguez Hills too. The story goes that the bull had very big nostrils and would charge at the victim and would just disappear as quickly.
That hasn't been seen in a very long time, but when there was more farmland and cattle ranches in Compton and Dominguez Hills, that story was common as well.
Comment by Wilson: My aunt worked in Torrance for a distribution manufacturing company back in the late 1960s till the 1970s, and most of her coworkers knew about the hopping man ghost. That's very interesting that the story is still talked about. They all describe the same appearance that he's dressed like Abraham Lincoln or 1800s era clothing just like the others have posted. Very interesting.
