I grew up in a home on Calvados Avenue. We moved in there in 1986. That house was nicknamed Amityville by my family. Many, many scary things happened to us while we lived there, so many that I don't even know where to start. What I can say is whatever was in that house was pure evil. One story I'll definitely tell you was this. One day we were all sitting in the living room while my uncle was in the shower. We all heard the bathroom door start violently shaking. All of us in the living room thought it was my uncle and jumped up to run to his aid. When we got to the hallway my uncle jumped out the door, asking my mother what was wrong. He thought she was shaking the door trying to get in. No one was touching the door. It was shaking on its own.
A number of years later, my family and I were in the living room. My stepfather got up and walked to the kitchen. When he got there, there was a two-foot tall pile of maggots that wasn't there shortly before. He grabbed a shovel (yes, shovel). There were so many he had to shovel them out into the street. It took about two hours because no matter how much he would shovel out to the street more would appear from nowhere. Literally nowhere! There were no cracks in the ceiling or the linoleum floor. They were nowhere near any doors or windows.

Every Christmas Eve the house would oddly smell like rotting corpse. When my brother and I were about 9 and 10 years old, we asked a Ouija board if something happened in the house. It told us that Victor killed his girlfriend and his girlfriend's daughter then killed himself. We've never been able to find anything about anything happening there. So many more things happened there while my family and I lived there, but there's so much that I can't list it all. I'm not sure if anything has happened there since we moved in 2008.

I live in Covina next to Wingate Park. The park is vey scary at night, and I see real weird things at night.

Comment by Po: Wingate Park is the site of a suicide back in the early eighties. A young male who attended Royal Oak High School shot himself in the head under the trees at the south side of the park near the intersection of Glendora Avenue and Wingate.
It was a shock to the community. He was obviously a troubled soul.
