Back in 1975 my family moved into some brand new houses that were being built. They had been financed by the bank my father worked for, so he got a great deal on the house. It was a big house and had four bedrooms, three bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. We started hearing footsteps walking across my parents' bedroom when everyone was downstairs. My father would always say it was the house settling, but it only happened at night.
Then I began

to witness a small human shaped fog which would appear on the stairs. We asked our neighbor about the history of the property, and she told us that before
|
these houses were built there used to be a giant mansion which was located on the property. She stated that our house had been built over the old swimming pool. I asked if she had ever seen anything strange. She replied that she had not, but she mentioned there was a story that a young boy had drowned in the pool decades ago.
After we found this out I would put toys on the stairs at night before going to bed and find that they had been moved in
