I encountered this ''black thing'' as well coming over the Valley Parkway where Valley and grand fork in front of the hospital. I was going over the hill in my car and it came up to my driver's window scratching at it. I just remember staring at it speechless. Seemed like it was there a long time but after I got over the hill it was gone. My girlfriend was in the car at the time but she didn't see anything because it happened so fast.

But she has had plenty of ghostly experiences in her houses growing up in Escondido so she believed me. Probably helped my cause that I was shivering and out of breath.... By far the scariest thing I have ever witnessed.

Comment by Annie2870: On the hill where those streets meet used to be one of the original mansions in Escondido. A friend of mine and myself would go there and stare at it trying to get the nerve to go in. If ever there was some place that looked haunted it was this place. They tore it down (sadly) to make an office building but I have no doubt that the spirits left there never left.
Comment by Jimmy: That black shadow has been witnessed by many people throughout Escondido. I know because I have seen similar dark masses around Escondido before during 2011-2013 was the peak of these sightings. I witnessed black shadows at least three times .
