I currently work at the Exeter Museum. I do spend some odd hours or nearly all day there doing various things and tasks. One time after hours I was the only one there. The doors were locked up, and the temperature was moderate. I was sitting in the office doing some work, and down the hallway for the old court house I heard a few bangings. It was the same sound as a gavel and a mallet from a judge. I waited a few minutes, maybe 10, walked towards the

outer gallery area, and stood there.
Then I heard it bang again three times along with a deep voice which I couldn't make out. I gathered my things

after that and left for the day. Not to mention, I've seen sort of ghostly figures by the stairwell and hallways. Now recently I've been hearing footsteps going up and down the stairs.
About last month I was taking some things down and cleaning upstairs. Again I was the only one there, and I heard the footsteps going up the stairs, so I thought someone was there and checking to see as I had the music up. No one came. I kept hearing the sounds of
