The whole time we lived in that house I would feel a presence and be creeped out by nagging thoughts almost like a demonic oppression. I always felt I was being watched, but I never thought of it as being a ghost. I don't really believe in ghosts, but I assumed it was because of some stresses we'd experienced in our family, and we needed to strengthen our faith. After we moved it never returned. However, we then moved into the historical house mentioned by Tom (my husband) below.
There, as he said, there were other weird things but never as weird as the first house. Someone once told us that before we moved in it was considered the neighborhood party house. Looking back in retrospect, we could hardly believed we actually stayed in that oppressive house for nine long years. My older daughters and I would laugh about it and sing the song, ''Movin on up'' after we moved. I wonder how many other houses in Fillmore might be haunted. But I won't mention the exact houses or streets for the sake of their owners. .

I grew up in this house on Main St, my grandmother lived in the front house and my mother in the back house. I lived in the front house with my grandmother, it is said that before my grandmother moved in a handicapped old lady died there in the back house, a man hanged himself in the shower. The point is that during my childhood my grandmother and I experienced paranormal things. I heard dishes falling, heavy footsteps with chains, also my mom as a child also felt a cold hand touching her leg while asleep. My grandmother said she's seen a lady hanging clothes outside, also one of my aunts was pushed while pregnant and broke her arm because she said she heard dishes falling and went to see and nothing was there... My uncle would feel his blanket being pulled etc.. When I was ten or so I finally saw a ghost, it was a little girl. I saw her reflection in a mirror that was next to the bathroom door in the dark, she smiled at me, she looked faded in white but she was just sticking her head out holding the door knob. I truly thought it was my little sister so I go in and open the door and turn the light on and there was nothing there...
