My dad's family moved to Glendale in 1922 from the Midwest. They moved around quite a bit but eventually settled in a house in the Verdugo Woodlands area northwest of Glendale College. Their house was not haunted, but everyone in our extended family believed that the neighborhood itself was and still is haunted. My grandfather died in 1970, and when I graduated college in 1974 my grandmother, who I adored, invited me to live with her for a while. I loved living with her and stayed until I got married in 1977. However, during that time I NEVER wanted to be alone in the house when she was away, even it was just for an evening to play bridge with her friends.
I can't say I ever saw or heard anything paranormal, but it was just a feeling and a prickly sense of being watched by something or someone outside. There were energies in the Woodlands that were not happy or friendly, and even my husband-to-be, staying with us one weekend, felt it. And he was otherwise completely skeptical regarding ghosts and paranormal happenings. My grandparents are long gone, as is my dad and one of his two brothers. The house in the Woodlands has been completely gutted and remodeled at least twice. The neighborhood is much more crowded and built up, but, frankly, doesn't feel any friendlier. I would not want to live in the area. .

I lived in an old but renovated apartment near GCC. The ghost that occupied my apartment tormented me. Believe it or not the ghost violated me. I denied it as a dream. But other things started happening also. I left after 8 months. I also work in a hospital and I have encountered ghosts there also which my coworkers consent to. I believe there are spirits stuck in a dimension but only where they died. My understanding of this world has changed since then.
