I lived in a rented house on W. 129th Street for about five years. After about a week of living there I started to notice things moving out of the corner of my eyes, such as white misty shapes and sometimes a figure that you could never really get a full look at. At first I dismissed these sightings as just my imagination or a trick of the light, but these sightings continued and became more frequent. These sightings would happen any time of day or night.

Then the noises started.
I would hear footsteps through the house, almost always starting in the service porch where the backdoor is and going

through the house and into the back again (our house was shaped like a 'U') and into the bathroom. Sometimes the bathroom door would shut on its own. Once again I would dismiss this as the wind or the cat or something. The longer we lived there, the worse it became. There was one day I had just gotten home and was sitting at my desk getting some work done. No one else was home, so it was very quiet. The door to the room was halfway open. Suddenly it
