My husband I were riding on his motorcycle coming down from keys view road in the Joshua tree Monument I saw a man standing on the side of the road he was dressed in old miner clothes. He had his pants tucked into his boots long jacket old hat that looked worn out.
He had a breard his sideburns were long he had wrinkles under his eyes. What was so weird is as we went by he continued to look at whatever he was looking at. He didn't even seem to
    know that we were there.
I asked my husband if he had seen him we turned around to go see if he was still there but he was gone. I told my husband
what I had seen and he told me that we were right near lost horse mine Rd. Wow! I know what I've seen he had to be an old miner...

Comment by Kelly: I and a group of my friends have seen him as well. I am not sure how long ago you posted this but I have some questions. We saw him approximately 10 years ago. I can't remember the date but remember it was about 1 am.
(we used to do late night drives through the monument from JT to 29 palms. Stopping to sit on some rocks and just hang out. ) the night we saw him he acknowledged us in a sense. This is what happened: we drove in to the monument and out in the distance miles in we saw a blue light.
They had recently done road work so we assumed it had something to do with that. We stopped at a spot close to the jt entrance and hung out for 15-20 minutes. The light remained pointing in our direction.

Eventually we jumped back in to the car (6 of us packed in to a station wagon) and continued. Just a little past the key's view exit we saw what the light was. A mine holding what appeared to be a pickaxe.
He was dressed in very old miner attire he was very pale. Upon his head was a light that was shining a pale blue. He had been standing in the same spot staring in our direction for a very long time.
As we drove by he turned his head to match us but it looked as if he was staring through us. As we exited the park we saw that he was still standing there looking at us the entire way until the final hill blocked our view.

There was no vehicle anywhere near him. I am comfortable saying that no person would be standing along the road at 1 in the morning dressed in old miner garb with a blue light (this was before everything was led) never moving their body or their head for that long on the off chance someone would drive through.
If anyone else has ever seen this or anything like it here at jt National Park please email me the details. This has been a huge mystery for us for so long and any details would be appreciated. (date time description did he have a tool or light etc) uriadin.kelly @gmail. com.

Comment by Dave: He had to be a ghost man. 4/16/21 I was thinking about this, so I looked it up and found your comment. I also remember as we drove away, the miner seemed to move very quickly toward the mountain adjacent to him. In the middle of the night with no cars around. He was a ghost for sure. Hope all is well, Kelly. I am sorry for being an a hole to you.
