We live close to the Los Angeles Forest in La Crescenta. A couple of times a year at night I hear what sounds like two men whispering while walking through our house. In the beginning I thought it was just noises from the street that I mistook for being inside but it always sounded exactly the same.
I can never make out what they are saying but I can hear their heavy foot falls as they walk from the back of the house to the front of the house. They

always stop mid way through the house before continuing.
There is always a heavy thud as if they had to drop something heavy down on the ground to

rest. After a few seconds the footsteps and whispering begin again. By the time I get to where I think they are the sounds are gone.
Doesn't matter if I rush out of the bedroom. The sounds are gone the minute I get to out of the door. Both my husband and I have heard it and have both tried to investigate with the same outcome.
