One night I saw a ghostly figure standing just inside the gates of the asylum and while walking my dog and heard loud pops/bangs coming from on of the smaller buildings. Creepy.

The cute little neighborhood of mountain oaks Park at the base of New York Avenue is not so appealing at night. This report is off my own experiences and other reported haunting. There is an old burned down lodge nestled just out of view and I don't know off hand of any deaths in the fire but my friend and I were walking her dog just after dusk and we thought it would be neat to go see what this lodge was like.
We walked up and heard laughter that sounded like a little girl we thought someone might be trapped in the dilapidated structure so we walked around searching and we reached the base of the lodge and heard whispering it wasn't legible but was whispering.
That night we came back knowing the area pretty well and tried are hand at ''ghost hunting'' we went up to the pool and caught what looked like a shadowy outline of a person on video camera and heard splashing water.
