I drove countless hours looking for the place and couldn't find it. I checked records at city hall Lynwood library but couldn't find the actual address. I spoke with an older resident that still had recollection of it's past history and told me that the house I describe is somewhere on agnes ave between 3rd and 4th ave.
Of course we're talking almost 100 years ago so it looks totally different today. Neighbors somewhere around this location that have

been living there have told me that the infants crying echo through the street and images of the daughter of the midwife is seen on occasion but rarely.

say the house is gone but ghost of the past remain...

Comment by Just Me: I grew up in Lynwood (on Agnes) from late 70's to mid 90's and never saw any ghost. I however did see a few dead bodies in the local alley's from victims of drug deals gone bad or of a burglar shot by a homeowner.
In regards to an old house that abortions used to be performed at ( I am not aware of). But I do know a friend of mine did live in one of the oldest houses in the city. When we ere kids he told me that while remodeling his father found sealed doorways to smaller rooms like closets and such.
This house is one lot south of Agnes with a huge yard, it's on the same street that Mark Twain school is on. I have not been back to Lynwood since I moved out so I don't know if the house is still there.
It was very old when we were kids.
