While we where moving out we heard a loud noise crash to find the glass is the fireplace had cracked. The fireplace had not been used for months. That was it.

I lived in a building near Castro and escobar for about a year. Cute old place and I was happy there but it wasn't long before weird stuff began. My landlord who lived directly underneath me would continuously tell me that I was walking quite heavily the previous evening on my floor which of course was their ceiling..

Problem was I was never home when this apparent foot stomping was happening. I almost always stayed at my boyrfriends house down the street. One night I came home from work and went to bed only to wake up in the middle of the night to find the bathtub running and almost overflowed.

The final issue was when my landlords needed to get into my apartment while I was at work to wait for the pg and e guy as my heater would not work. The key would only work for me when anyone else tried to use it it would not work.
I never felt scared there but after telling my landlord all of this she said she beleived that the building had been a saloon/whorehouse back in the 1800's. Fascinating stuff! I moved out and in with my now husband but I have always loved that place.
