My friend Arthur and I were driving to a retreat in McCloud and took the turn off from I5 to SR89. We were familiar with this road as we came to a retreat here for many years, but this time it took much longer to reach the tiny town of McCloud- over an hour. We were driving and driving and engaged in conversation when we realized that we had passed the sign announcing McCloud was ahead twenty minutes before, and we still weren't there.

Right at this point the radio played a song from the 1940s, which was really strange since we were listening to a rock station, and it was 2013! We were distracted by the song, and our conversation turned to why was this song on. The song ended and back to rock and roll, and it took another five minutes to reach the main entrance to the town of McCloud. We were on the same stretch of highway for about a half an hour with no traffic, not even a car in sight. We were in some sort of time warp, and to this day we know we were not abducted; we were just driving for a long long time. That year several other people at the retreat commented on how it took so long to get into McCloud or to get back to Mt Shasta.

We took a trip on June 27 for a Mccloud supposedly water falls, but we ended up in the lake Mccloud boat reservoir. We were looking for a place to park and swim around the lake. We kind of went up ahead away from the boat reservoir, and we drove up ahead to park and swim. We were going to settle in one place, and when I looked at the water it gave me the creeps that we shouldn't stay there and swim. I could just sense that there's something dark in the bottom of that lake, so we left because we couldn't find a spot up there. We ended up going back to the Mccloud Reservoir and swam around the reservoir. It was very quick. My son didn't like the feelings of swimming around the reservoir. It was creepy. We are never going back to Mccloud boat launching facility.
