I lived on Waters Avenue in a very small house old (this was in 1984) that looked to be old mill housing. I was sitting on my bed in the daytime when suddenly the bathroom doorknob started jiggling violently. I watched it amazed. I also had woken up many times to see a human figure fading back and above me from lying in bed. I have so much wanted to go there and see if current residents have had weird experiences. I moved into an apartment on Larissa Circle a few years back. It was a two-bedroom apartment. My younger sister, who was a college student and I who was working at the time, decided to take the back room. There was a 15ft hall walk from my sister's room with a bathroom in between. It had a cozy feel about it, and there was a tree blocking the window. I liked the privacy.

About a month into living there I stayed up late one night reading a book. Then the light turned off suddenly. It sounded as though the switch had been flipped, so I got up and tried the switch. It was in the same ''on'' mode. I'm not afraid of the dark and am pretty rational-minded. I thought ''huh power outage'' and went to check on my sister (who is scared of the dark. ) She was also up late doing homework. However, her light was still on. I decided that the bulb must be dead and turned to go back to my room. The light was on again. I shrugged it off, walked back into the room. As I entered it shut off again. I stood in the dark for a minute, trying to figure it out. I tried the switch and got no response. I gave up and decided to go to bed. After three minutes the light came back on with the switch in the ''off'' position. I chalked it up to a faulty switch and went to bed.
The next night it happened again. The light started randomly turning itself on and off, for different intervals of time always after 9. Before, it would function like a normal light. I stopped hanging out in my room at night, just used it to go to bed. I just let it be. I joked it was haunted. This remained a joke until my last month there. I moved out of the room into the living room sleeping on the futon since I had already moved my bed to my new place. My boyfriend came to help move me out to our new place while my sister had moved to a different city. I began asking him to stay overnight. Why? Because the lights in the living room began to turn on and off at night after 9. They had not done so the entire year I lived there until I slept in the living room.
I had an eerie feeling there was someone else with me. At first my guy made fun of me. That night he stayed. We watched a movie, and the lights began turning on and off. He sat, watched the switch... Nothing. Then with some background in electrical wiring he said ''that's not possible. There's no way for a light to randomly turn off and on however long it wants and then stop. '' I just looked at him. I knew that. It continued all the way until I moved.
