At lake Yosemite, when the sun goes down, you can see a woman wearing a white gown searching for her drowned child, and as the story goes, if she encounters any child she will take them into the water with her mistaking it for her child. Submitted by Anonymous
Comment by Erica: This lady is called the La Llorona in Mexico, she drowned her two kids in a river to satisfy her husband, and when she saw he was very angry and upset she started crying and yelling for her kids and she was stabbed by her husband. The ghostly image of her in a white gown was spotted in Arizona.

Comment by Jess: She is also seen in Texas.

The story of the woman with the noose around her neck is based on actual fact. My father who was a CHP officer at the time was heading back to the station right off the 99. Right at the intersection of Mckee near Bear Creek, there used to be a very tall and large tree. A call had been placed through dispatch because a woman had taken her life by hanging herself on that tree. Apparently the woman had been suffering terribly from cancer and decided to end her life.
