I grew up in Meridian. Oh boy the stories!! I lived in an old home that had many uses: a home birthing hospital, a sugar cane company, a ready home, and then our home. While living in that home for at least 15 years I had many experiences. We're told people pushed themselves downstairs and shot themselves. Many deaths happened here being a rest home. We saw hands on corners. The front stairs always scared me. They were always cold, and I would

In my bedroom that had a huge walk-in closet I would hear lots of movement. My clothes would all be moving as if

pushed. I could never get them to do the same thing. I think they kept people in there. It was big enough my now-husband was in the room by himself and heard lots of activity in the closet. He yelled to my brother across the hall. He never stayed in there again. My brother had covers ripped off of him many times. I would see a sad butterfly woman in the sun porch. I think she must have lost a baby there. We had that room as a playroom, and I had lots
