How do I find out the history on Moreno Valley, California. I'd like to find out what was going on in my house and why. We don't live there anymore but I always wonder if the people there now have seen stuff. I've heard it was a big farm town years and years ago and Indians stayed. My cat would freak out inside the house and look at the walls or ceilings and hiss! The house was on Nogal Street, backyard faced Perris Boulevard cross Street was Cactus.

Comment by Lisa: I did a bit of research on the history of Moreno Valley. I do know that a sect of Shoshone Indians inhabited the land. You can try contacting city hall. If you are curious about the land you might be able to find some schematics or old aerial photos of the area if the parks and recreation department still has them. Also you might find some info in the periodicals department in the Riverside Central Library's lower floor. Hope this helps. Good luck!.

Comment by Hector: I know that that area if Mo Val was the original location of Sherman Indian School.. Many native children died in that school... And many were buried in unmarked graves.. Also many of their families where told they had run away...

I moved back to Moreno Valley this year April 2011 from Riverside. About 3wks after I moved here my burner on the stove came on by itself. I didn't think anything of it because I thought that maybe I did it by accident without knowing so I just turned it off and went on about my business.
