When I was very young my parents bought a house near Alondra and Elaine. The houses on these small one way streets are pretty small and close together. As our family was growing my dad decided to make additions to the house rather than move. He added rooms and a den. He always wanted a pool table, so when the den was completed he acquired a used coin operated one that looked like it came out of a pool room or a bar. It was very heavy. It took six men

to carry it in the sliding door.
I don't remember when it began, but in the evenings when we would all be sitting in the front room watching TV

we would hear the cue ball getting hit and clicking with the other balls on the table. We were used to hearing this regularly, so we wouldn't pay attention at first. After a while one of my sisters or me would ask who was playing pool. It would stop of course. We would notice everyone was in the front room, and when we would check it no one would be there, and the door would be locked. My mom would make a joke about the friendly ghost who likes to play pool,
