Well, normally I'd be scared outta my mind right now, well, I kinda am, still can't sleep... But I actually feel honored and privileged to have experienced such a unique encounter with a great spirit & legend from another time. Submitted by Carol

On the third Friday of March 2013 a little after 11 pm on Franklin Street between 1st and 2nd by Jack London square I was sure I saw a ghost. This happened a block away from Roscoe's which is the most popular late night food spot in downtown Oakland.

My wife, her friend, and I pulled up and parked just down from a group of older people who were saying their goodbyes and listening to some loud soul music playing from their stereo. I can't remember who was playing but it was fairly loud.

I got out of the driver's seat and next to me was a parked black dodge charger with an alarm light flashing inside. I saw an older gentleman in the car with a white suit or coat, black shirt, and white hat reflecting off the alarm light.
I was waiting for my wife and her friend to get themselves ready so I stepped up onto the sidewalk and looked down the street towards the Amtrak and the people saying goodbye. In the back of my mind I could feel the old man looking at me. Once I heard my wife close the door I looked over to them and noticed the man in the car was gone! Maybe he got out of the car but it could only have been 30 seconds after me, and I was standing right there and didn't hear a door close.
