I have had yet another experience in my home that other family members have already experienced. I thought they were just being dramatic and really didn't believe them. The other night I stood up a bit to type my daughters employment application (20 pager) from a draft she had prepared.
Presently there are four adults living in my home. I live in a two story home in the southern part of Ontario. My daughter sleeps in one bedroom, her friend occupies another bedroom and my husband sleeps in the master bedroom alone.

My father passed away last July so I go two houses down and sleep with my mom so she is not alone. Imagine this setting at night but with my husband sleeping in the TV room downstairs on a couch. It was after 11:30 pm and I was typing the application in the master bedroom using the old fashion IBM typewriter.

The typewriter was by the window and the pages of the application were lying across the end of the bed with the bedroom door slightly open to avoid waking the others. When I completed typing a page I would go to the bed and proofread the typed page against the rough draft.
I did this routine until twenty four pages were typed. Between this routine I would hear someone walking outside the bedroom door and I would look towards the door and think that maybe someone had gotten up to go downstairs to get water or something.
The sound of footsteps continued to happen but each time I had a logical reason I thought. I would look up to see if my husband was going to walk through the door and tell me to stop typing already.
