I resided next to a home on Vista Del Cerro in which there was an accidental shooting resulting in a young person's unfortunate demise. Before I bought this house my friends lived in the other home where the accident happened. They would tell me often of occurrences, none of them malicious, but handprints on fogged windows or mirrors, occasional apparition sighting and so on. Well, we bought next door, and my friends moved a short while later, that place now vacant. Before too long my wife would occasionally call out 'what did you say?'' As would I. I then began catching occasional movement, sort of the corner of the eye situation. It would progress so that one day a chew toy for the dog flew from the kitchen. It hit the wall, and my dogs freaked.

In our latest incident I opened the back door to yak at my wife sitting in the back. My little Tilly who I call the Queen came in, and I said to my wife, ''see, queens come in, mutts stay out,'' referring to her dog who was still out there. She laughed, gave me some return banter, and I shut the door. Now I started looking for my little princess and could not find her. I opened the rear slider and said ''I can't find Tilly. '' We look and there she was out back lying in the sun. So I was stunned, when you watched and felt your dog come in bumping your leg on the way, and you made a wisecrack in the process only to find she never came in, you kind of scratch your head thinking ''what just happened?'' My wife said ''it's probably your friend from next door'', but why would he appear so to speak as my dog? Like I said it was no scary feeling when it happened. I have resolved to the thought he was lonely and was visiting to enjoy the company and play.

Comment by Your friend former neighbor: I always felt bad about leaving him. Not knowing if he had feelings or was attached to us. Such a sad circumstance. Thanks for keeping the kid company :(.

Oh my goodness! I just accidentally stumbled upon this forum. I'm a 39-year-old happily married mother of two. I currently live in Austin, Texas. As a girl growing up around 1992-1994, we rented a home on Lincoln Boulevard in Oroville, California. It was next to a Ma and Pa store called Don's Market. Now it's called something else.
