Comment by Ellie: Send an anonymous letter to the home ask them to respond on this site. Maybe George did move on. Your mother had to light a white candle for him to move on and let him know to go to the light. You could actually do that yourself from wherever you live.
I don't think you --would want to be earthbound if you were deceased. That means you don't see your ancestors and recently passed away friends and family.
Comment by Bobby: My kids have experienced seeing a ghost of a little boy in my mother-in-law's house, and she lives behind the Walmart on Castana Ave. down the street from the refinery. My kids have seen the ghost, and my sister-in-law and her daughter have seen the ghost of the little boy. He was dressed in old style clothing. I'm not sure if it's the same ghost. It could be that your mother freed him from the house but has not sent him on his way to the other side and now wanders Paramount.

I grew up in Paramount and lived there between 1961 and 1984. The house I grew up in was new but the grounds were haunted. I saw images of a man in Jean overalls, was touched, heard ladies speaking in a foreign language, experienced cold spots, heard footsteps, etc.
All of the family had similar experiences in that home over the years. We lived on Jackson in between Downey and Paramount Boulevard. I often wonder if the people who subsequently resided in the home experienced the same things.
