Hello. I would like to know the history behind old Poway creek. I moved to Poway in October of 1996 and have been here since 8th grade Middle School. My parents moved into a new house. At the time they were known as Shea Homes. The name of my street is even strange, Whispering Tree Lane. I have noticed that my parents' house is indeed haunted. When I stay the night over there I get chills, walking outside just to have a cigarette late at night.
I have witnessed strange sounds at night before going to sleep. I even recorded a spirit telling me to let it out of the window. One late night while using my computer I heard a rattling sound on my desk as if someone was throwing heavy chains on it. The doors sometimes open and slam on their own. Now I know Natives dwelled all along Old Poway Creek before houses were even built. Kumuyaay's. If anyone could tell me the history behind Old Poway Creek and the street my parents still live on, I would gladly appreciate it. Fossil22 @ cox. net.

There have been some incidents by Dearborn Memorial Cemetery. My friends and I went there one Halloween night with a Ouija board and tried to contact some spirits. It didn't work (I didn't expect it to) because one of my friends was forcefully moving the pointer.
However, as we packed up to leave, we heard an animalistic growl. It was unreal. We were in the part of the cemetery away from the horse stables, so I don't think it was one of them. It is possible that it was a smaller animal, like a coyote, but we didn't think so. We got the hell out of there.
