Belief in ghosts is a matter of experience and being that my experience happened early on in my life I carried that belief... We moved to Alta Loma off Banyan around 1985. Soon after moving in the two story home strange things started to frighten me my brother sister then eventually my mom.
Footsteps started seldomly then became a daily occurrence then they became aggressive. One night in particular was the turning point as we had been crying to my parents about it for weeks. I was downstairs watching TV with my brother sister and mom.

Clear as can be the footsteps walked across the upstairs then downstairs we all looked at each other with concern. Then the most unthinkable thing changed my moms opinion when the entity crashed into my mom's giant shell lamp.

It crashed so loud my mom grabbed us all and began throwing salt (Japanese custom) she then told my dad we had to do something. We had our house blessed by a great man, a Greek orthodox priest who also baptized us.
After his blessing it stopped but comes back every now and then but is only subtle now. I had another encounter in Jr high around age 11 when I was often home alone. It would mimic basically it took the form of my brother and sister.
Outside feeding my dog and filling his water dish my brother appears in the kitchen window so I splashed the window and made a funny face... His total lack of reaction was strange to me so I splashed the window again but this time he was gone.
