Every morning at 3 am you hear screams down by the river. True story. Don't believe me. Try it. Sit out there for 45 minutes at 3 o'clock, and you'll begin to hear some screams. Maybe earlier maybe later, but you'll hear them. Submitted by Angie

Back in October of 1995, October 31st to be exact, my friend and I had an encounter with a very famous urban legend worldwide known as La Llorona. It was around 10 o'clock at night. My girlfriend at the time and two of my closest hang-arounds/friends were up to no good sort to speak, and being Halloween night we decided to go somewhere creepy. We headed towards the infamous Reedley Beach. For the people that do not know the area, let me quickly describe the layout of the area. The Kings River runs through this park with sand along the shore that gives the impression of being a real beach. To one side there is a residential area and the other side the town's cemetery.

At arrival one of my friends and I started taunting at my ex and the other friend for not wanting to get off the car and hang out around the area. My friend and I went alone towards the darkest area of the park to prove how brave we were, but all we really proved that night was simply not to ever challenge the unknown. We both were standing right by the waters of the Kings River, pitch black all around us, when suddenly we both heard a woman crying. As we looked around us without seeing anyone, we both started walking back towards the lit area of the park. We heard steps coming towards us as well as the cry getting louder. We were about 25 feet of the line dividing the darkness from the light when it felt as the cry and the steps behind us were actually rapidly coming from our right side. It was as if it was going around us and was not going to let us make it to the light.
As we walked out of the darkness, it stopped. We both looked back and saw absolutely nothing. As we made it to the car, the others asked us what had happened. We did not say a word until we were completely out of there. The only thought running through our heads was the same exact one, never again. Submitted by Armando
