These kids tragically were locked in and subsequently died. The school always had an eerie feel to it, from the auditorium, to the restrooms, to the black top playground. The neighborhood adjacent to the school was always very scary. The houses on Baird north of Wyandotte were particularly disturbing. A friend of mine lived in one of those homes with the yard sharing a fence with the schoolyard. He always experienced strange noises and bumps and thumps

with no explainable origin.
One evening I'll never forget. I was parked in front of his home, and something caught my eye in his yard just in front

of his garage which had a carport leading up to it. I can describe it as a bright ball of pure white light. It was like a lightning ball except it was a clear cloudless night, and the sun was out. It was as though a helicopter or plane was landing, but there was neither in sight, and the entire atmosphere was dead silent. The light descended slowly into the yard at an acute angle and continued through his fence into the neighbor's house.
