Two of my brothers and I went fishing at Rio Vista one night. It was raining hard, so we decided to sleep in the car and fish the next morning. We slept alongside the river on highway 160 (close to the area where highways 12 and 160 intersect. ) Anyway, I slept in the driver seat, one of my brothers slept on the passenger seat and the third slept in the backseat. The one who slept in the backseat jokingly said he wanted to see a ghost before he fell asleep that night (this was around 1:00 am. ).
At 3 am we were all asleep and the same brother who said he wanted to see a ghost started screaming. At first I thought someone was trying to break in the car to rob us resulting in him screaming, so I asked him what was going on. He told us that he saw a man's head floating near the windshield glaring at him with a very evil smile. As soon as the other brother in the passenger seat and I woke up, it suddenly disappeared. I turned on the headlights and looked outside the car to see any irregularities. No one was outside. I immediately drove away to look for the brightest area to calm down. We ended up at the McDonalds near the fishing bait shop since it was well lit there.

A week later, my brother and I drove back to the same spot where my other brother had seen the ghost because tons of striped bass were at that part of the river, and we really wanted to catch a few. We were hooked into fishing at that time. We fished alongside the river until 12:00 am. A man came alone out of nowhere and told us to beware as that particular area was extremely haunted. Keep in mind that we had not told him of our paranormal experience until after he warned us. At first we thought he was not human as it was weird how he drove there all alone to fish at such a late hour. We drove home that night spooked.

I live in Antioch CA. I have a ghost story about Rio Vista. When I was 12 years old in 1976 my older brother was 18; some of his friends were going fishing one night about 10:00 pm over by the river spending the night fishing going towards Rio Vista Bridge.
So it started getting a little foggy at night, it was late September. They started going towards the bridge, saw a little boy running after his dog. The boy and his dog went in front of their car; they stop and pull over and thought they hit both the boy and his dog.
