In short there was no plausible explanation for what happened. Naturally I was scared and worried. I tried to do some investigating about possible events or people that had lived here before and checked at the Maidu Indian Museum but they didn't know anything.
I live near the creek and nature trail/oak preserve area so it could have once been a home site for Native Americans. We were among the first living here in this area so I didn't even

have any neighbors to ask about similar experiences.
I'm so glad I found this web site! I hope others will post their paranormal experiences as well.
