I lived in an old apartment building on Santa Barbara Street that had been an ''establishment'' at one time. I would often feel that I was not alone in my place, but at the time I wrote it off as the overactive imagination of a young woman living alone. My first clue that something was off, however, was the night that I couldn't find one of my cats anywhere. I searched the entire place top to bottom, looked outside, you name it. He used to try to hide under the bookshelf, but he couldn't quite fit; even so I checked under it several times.
I finally decided to run the vacuum because I knew that would scare him out if he was hiding. As soon as I turned it on, he came flying out from under the bookshelf! I honestly have no idea how he managed to fit; it struck me as creepy at the time, but again I dismissed it as the late hour preying on my imagination.

Shortly thereafter he and my other cat would leap and meow at the exact same spot on the wall. At first I figured there must have been squirrels or something nesting in the walls of the building, but then I realized they did it at the exact same time every day (just after 6 p.m. ) which was also about when I'd sense a shadow behind me. Again I had attributed that to the changing light, but when I put it all together it added up to something being 'off'. When the landlady evicted everyone, I actually wasn't sad about leaving!.

My husband saw a ghost in our house on Liberty Street. It's a very old house and we both had been witnessing many weird things in that house, like things falling over without anyone touching them. Electronic devices turning on by themselves. We heard footsteps, and on the last day that we slept in that house he saw a girl in a pink party dress walking into my son's room....
