Comment by Bokaba: Well feeling like someone is watching you is well just a feeling. Had you just been woken up when you saw the alleged apparition? If so it is possible that you had not come to your senses yet. If what you describe is really what you saw then there is probably something in your house that is possibly intelligent given that it moved out of the way.
The area of Temecula you live in would have either been part of the veil or Roripaugh ranches but it is unlikely there was ever another building on the site where your house sits.

We have lived in Temecula for 13 years and have never seen heard felt or experienced any sort of paranormal activity nor were we searching for it! Last September we were walking around lake skinner with our 2 dogs.

It was about 6 pm and as we crossed over this small bridge-like walkway we briefly noticed another man with a very muted looking dog. I did a double-take and looked at him as he and his dog were just staring at the lake not moving.
Then as we were just to pass him he disappeared. One of my dogs at that moment stopped suddenly as if it sensed something and I nearly tripped over him. He then growled. This all happened within a few seconds.
It was a very strange occurrence! We walked passed that area so quick then looked back. All I could say was... Omg did you see that? Omg! What was that? My husband and I cannot explain what it was we saw other than what I already described a man with a brown sweater brown or gray pants with a scruffy short beard and a brown dog...
