I lived in the house David posted about here, his friend's grandfather's house near Arlington and Sepulveda for 5 years, and for sure it was haunted. There were numerous incidents. My mom bought it and was in the process of remodeling it when I broke up with my psycho live-in girlfriend, so I moved into it.
The house was over 100 years old, and the glass in the windows was ''runny'' or distorted, so that you didn't really ever have a clear view of the outside, especially at night, and pretty much everyone who was ever in the house says it felt like you were constantly being watched.
After only a couple of months in the place, (all by myself) I invited my buddy Rob over but didn't mention how odd the place felt. I wanted to do as scientific a test as I could, so just gave him the tour of the place, which included the secret passage behind the fireplace upstairs. One end of which ended inside a makeshift storage area, the door of which had an elk ankle and hoof as the handle of the door!
Rob made appropriate oohing and ahhing noises- free rent in this area in a midget Mansion is a sweet deal, and I was the one who would be sleeping in the haunted house (alone) when he went home, so he thoughtfully didn't want to freak me out unnecessarily.
After about 30 minutes of polite chit chat, we were on the sidewalk in front of the house, so I could show him the concrete pond with a castle on the bridge that crossed it (not there anymore. ) I couldn't resist, and so asked as neutral a question as I could, ''so did you notice anything unusual about the house?''
That was all it took to break the dam of politeness. He enthusiastically confirmed everything I had been feeling. He too felt like he was being watched, and the whole place had a creepy feel about it. We continued to talk about how weird the house was as we walked back inside, and the chandelier brightened twice and made a loud electrical ''VZZZT!! VZZZT!!!'' sound!
