There are two haunted houses on Benecia Road just a couple of blocks from each other, or at least there were I haven't been back in 30 years. One was a 3-story Victorian that even Sunset Magazine had done an article on. The other was just a couple of houses from the cemetery, and I lived in it with my roommate for over a year. He stayed much longer and even tried buying the house.
The house was a small cute stucco house with a small covered porch in the front and a twelve pane glass door. The previous tenants had lasted only a month before moving out, but we had much better experiences with the ghost. We were kind to her, and she was kind to us. She was very active with humming and opening and closing cupboards and doors.

She would hide your keys and mail sometimes and even pet my roommate's cats. We could watch an invisible hand stroke their fur, and they would rare up on their back legs to meet her hand for petting. When no one else was near them. Lots more I could tell you, but none of it is scary to me. She was lovely.

I grew up in Vallejo, and two kids I went to school with were killed by the Zodiac killer near there. However, ''Gravity Hill'' on lake Herman Road was known long before the killings. I went there with my mom the first time when I was little, and we rolled uphill in the day light. Then many years later I rented a cute little stucco house on Benecia Road that was haunted.
