I was in the bathroom doorway. I stopped what I was doing and turned around to see who was there, but I was alone. The direction it went was toward an exterior wall. There was only one door to the room, and it was the opposite direction it was traveling. It would have had to disappear into a solid block wall.
A medical staffer who worked overnight shifts would tell me of talking and laughing emanating from Room 9 as he made his rounds during the

wee hours. Again, it happened all while the room wasn't occupied. I don't work there anymore, but I'm sure the oddities in that room continue.

When I was a teenager, I became a performer at the High Desert Center for the Arts in downtown Victorville. At the time, I had no idea that it was haunted, but over the course of four or five years, things happened that just couldn't be explained.
I was about fifteen when we started rehearsing for our first show. Everything was fine except for that awful smell in the restroom. At first, my friend and I thought that maybe someone had a stomach virus and kept taking bowel movements in there every evening, but one Saturday we were the first ones to arrive and the restroom still smelled that way. We asked one of the male performers if he smelled it in the men's restroom, and he said yes, but it wasn't strong. None of us could tune our voices in those bathrooms though. Looking back, it smelled like death or decay.
