They found the log cabin undamaged and evidence of the valiant defense the massacre and the butchery was still visible. Construction of a fort nearby from the cabin was begun but the troops were recalled before the fort was completed.

One morning just before dawn I witnessed a light swaying back and forth in the Orchard across from our house. It's progress mimicked a person walking with a lantern. I ran to the opening of the coppice where the movement was aiming.

I could see the passage of light although could not see anyone walking with it. I waited in the opening for the trespasser as the light drew closer it vanished. I need to point out that I am Native American who lives on a settlement known as Woodville where all but two settlers were massacred by Indians many many years ago.
I have witness much activity in the few years that we have lived here and in my research found documented testaments regarding this area: Venice hill four creeks and Woodville.
