Today was my daughter's 13th birthday and we went to have an early lunch at Mel's Diner in Walnut Creek. As I was trying to parallel park just opposite Mel's my daughter saw a young woman in a trench coat with an old-fashioned hair style.
In spite of the rain there was no water on the woman's coat and my daughter wondered why she was so close to the front of the car (in the street), especially since I was so clumsy with my parking job.

appeared as a solid figure who just vanished as she made her way up South Main Street. She carried neither umbrella or purse. We asked the waitress at

Mel's if the area was known to be haunted by a ghost and she said no, not that she had heard.

I have been hearing a ghost train for the 14 years we have lived on Rudgear Road. Today I heard the train sound and its horn. Twice I heard the wheels and the bell ringing. There was a train track on what is now Broadway Street in 1891. The station it stopped at is where Vic Stewart's Restaurant is now. One time during the day I was driving home on Broadway, and I suddenly saw the train heading right toward me. It went through me just like that scene from the ghost busters movie when they were below the street in New York.
