This man kept turning to look and smile at me while he was crossing the street back and forth, then all of the sudden he was gone.

Recently I was talking to a friend of mine that is a member of a dredging team that was working on the river near an old 1800's mining town called Tanoka Bar, CA. (not sure of the spelling). They were dredging the river so the salmon could spawn farther upstream.

While working one day a very strange event took place. Out of the river appeared many human like figures (yes dead ones) and started toward them. They all experienced this. He recalls that many of the men were crying and a few even were going a little crazy.

He himself says he has not yet recovered from this event. There has to be some kind of documentation of the event as many of the men were taken to a nearby hospital by medical response teams. (many of them) I have tried to research this event and can find nothing about it or the town of tanoka bar.
Is there or was there such a place in the 1800s? I don't know. Do I believe my friend? Yes absolutely. The fear in his eyes were real. What is going on now? Are they still working on the river? I would love to hear from anyone that was at the event or had responded to the location of the event.
