My family has lived across the street from Camp Smith since I started kindergarten in the mid 1980s. In the early 1990s they built a second house on the lot. I never experienced anything odd in the old house (which is probably about 80 years old at this point). However, there have been plenty of weird happenings in the new house. There are three floors. My mother and I lived on the top two floors, (I now live in town with my husband, but my mother still

lives in our house) and we've always rented out the bottom floor.
There have been so many times when I was home alone while my mother and the renter

were at work or on a work trip, and I have heard heavy footsteps coming from downstairs. There is also a spot near the kitchen where I used to have to turn out the hallway light before bed. I hated standing in that spot and would just get this awful feeling of dread. I would turn out the light real quick and run back to my bedroom.
I didn't connect the dots until just a few years ago, but this is the exact spot that where this giant ficus tree stood
