I grew up living in the Mililani area. We were living waikalani and was excited when we found out we were moving in a bigger two-story townhouse. My tutu is pure Hawaiian and had many beliefs on what brings bad luck. We had a tree that was growing parallel to our front door. My tutu believe it will bring bad spirits. One day when my aunty tried to dial our house phone; it would start dialing ''66666'' on its own. It was more active when we pointed it at the tree that was growing right in front our main door. It freaked us all out. Other times when one of us is home alone and downstairs we start hearing footsteps upstairs and someone running up and down the stairs.
Sometimes when we're in our room upstairs we hear footsteps as if someone is walking upstairs and towards us. When we look nothing was there. Last incident was when my brother fell asleep with his feet facing towards his bedroom door (supposed to be bad luck) he woke up in the middle of the night and saw a dark figure crouching down looking at him. He was definitely scared and hid under his blanket till the morning. Such a earie house to live in.

I lived in Mililani for five years and Kaneohe for one. I lived in a little one-room apartment in some complex off of Kuahelani Avenue on Hanile Street for two years (2006-2008. ) I never *saw* a ghost there (I've seen them other places, but not there), but it is the only place I've ever actually moved away from exclusively because it was haunted. I've had ghost experiences ever since I was a kid, but nothing freaked me out as bad as this did, because I lived there alone and this made several physical interactions with objects and gave a bad vibe (not all ghosts have bad vibes you know. ) I always had a creeped out feeling in the bathroom of that place and particularly from the shower/bathtub (I've not had issues with any shower before or since. ) I left the bathroom door open at night with a nightlight on inside it, because if I closed it at night it was always open in the morning. I believe whatever it is, it wants the door open. Huge cane spiders were everywhere in that house. I know they aren't too dangerous, and they eat the roaches. They're gigantic and so they scare you. One even fell on the pillow in my bed next to me when I was sleeping and freaked me out really bad.
The event that triggered me to move (I moved two days after this, and only came back long enough to clean the place up afterwards) was one night when I was lying down to go to sleep in October 2008. I was waiting to fall asleep, and it felt like the mattress down by my feet had been lifted up and allowed to fall back down again, and I jumped. I thought ''oh it's probably one of those weird sensations you get sometimes when falling asleep. '' It was like how sometimes you feel you're falling or tripping as you're falling asleep, and it wakes you up. I thought it was something like that. So I laid my head back down but was still wide awake. My heart was still racing because I had literally just been jolted awake. Then it happened again. While I was wide awake, without question, the exact same thing happened again. I felt my feet raise up with the mattress, and I heard the end of the mattress land back down on the bed frame. Mattresses aren't light weight, even to lift just the end of one, and I slept in a queen size bed. For a spirit to be able to move something like that is not to be blown off, and especially not to do it twice, and it of course had to be done deliberately with intent to frighten, maybe even with intent to threaten, considering the vibes. I got in the bathroom 20 feet from my bed, and this also meant it was willing to mess with me when I was sleeping. I lived alone at this time, not even a pet, so no other living thing large enough to move a mattress was in the apartment.
